Craft Care Specialists (CCS)

HHV developed the Craft Care Specialist (CCS) program in 1994 in an effort to augment VA staff and to ensure that more veterans had the opportunity to integrate arts & crafts into their prescribed therapy. A CCS is a paid employee of HHV who volunteers at a designated facility. CCS candidates are selected by VA, state home or military facility staff, and interviewed by both the on-site supervisor and HHV's advisor (who serves as the off-site supervisor).

Mission:

To enhance HHV's value as a voluntary service organization for America’s veterans by providing compassionate and comprehensive therapeutic intervention through creative arts by incorporating HHV arts & crafts kits into both physical and emotional healing and recovery programs.
