Wounded Warrior Ministry (formerly Chaplain’s Closet)
Help Hospitalized Veterans (HHV) has been providing craft kits to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC), Landstuhl, Germany since 1999. On a visit to the facility in 2006, HHV learned that many of the wounded service personnel that arrive at LRMC do so wearing dirty fatigues, and sometimes only a hospital gown.
There is rarely time for the injured or sick soldier to pack a bag prior to being airlifted to medical aid.

 |
| That's where the Wounded Warrior Ministry comes in. The Ministry, formerly known as the Chaplain’s Closet which started in October 2002) provides comfort items such as clothes, shoes, toiletries, phone cards and various sundries to injured troops, regardless of branch of service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard), component (Active Duty, Reserve or National Guard), or race, religion, national origin or gender. |
 |
Upon hearing of the Ministry’s services and the ongoing need for such items, HHV’s Board of Directors resolved to assist. In September 2006 HHV's first check presentation was made to the Ministry. This donation was intended for use where the need was greatest; at the time it was for the purchase of footwear.
Until the need for services provided by the Ministry diminish, HHV representatives will present the Ministry with annual donations. |
| The Ministry only accepts donations of cash or new items such as men’s and women’s fleece, men’s and women’s athletic shoes, backpacks, gym bags and small suitcases. |
